Rejection’s Bitter Taste
to the 6th stanza.
Title: Rejection’s Bitter Taste
Sent out to the wasteland of denial,
Achievement and victory all gone astray,
Nowhere to turn and no one left to turn to,
Withering rejection heard loud and clear today.
Seeking immunity’s protection here again,
Boldly fighting for such a wish of state,
Trump against the odds made his noble stance,
But to his loss, he almost was too late.
A challenge overtaken by the ruling underground,
The fight was lost before it could begin,
Twin losses tallied on a single day,
Rejection does not quench the spirit of warring men.
What thoughts impinge upon the crestfallen mind?
The cold fear of tomorrow looms ahead,
What once could have been now can’t be again,
The anguish of rejection is not yet dead.
The faithful will now gather after the storm’s abated,
Time comes and goes for those in search of truth,
Enfolding the fallen heart in a cherished embrace,
The painful sting of withering rejection is now sooth.
Though denied his moment of victory today,
Trump still holds the support of many today,
Digging deep to find a wellspring of strength,
He waits to see what tomorrow’s light may bring.
