Amidst the tempest’s furious cry,
A leader’s spirit soars on high,
Resignation veils, yet strength remains,
Unyielding against hate’s disdain.

In menacing shadows, truth ignored,
An emblem tarnished, unity restored,
For every step back, we will advance,
Confronting animus, we’ll take a stance.

Racial animus may sow seeds of fear,
But resilience blossoms, steadfast and clear,
Together we stand, undeterred, undismayed,
From darkness to light, a new era displayed.

With open hearts, we’ll bridge the rift,
Embracing justice, our souls uplift,
For knowledge’s pursuit, justice we decree,
A legacy upheld, spirits ever free.

Harvard’s leader departs, but visions won’t fade,
In honor of progress, foundations will be laid,
Fear not the challenges, our voices resound,
United we triumph, as love will astound.
