In fleeting moments, words can inflict such pain,
A tale of a star tarnished by disdain,

Bound by fame and fortune’s thrall,

But in this darkness, his true colors show,
Leaving humanity’s grace far below.

The N-word echoed, venomously spat,
A stain upon his name, a tarnished hat,
Apologies follow, but can they truly amend,
The hurt caused by words that cannot defend?

Yet amidst this darkness, may a lesson shine,
To enlighten hearts, to unite and realign,
For in our unity lies a power so great,
To overcome racism, and eradicate hate.
