Shadows of Inaction

Shadows of Inaction

Title: Shadows of Inaction

In this land of democracy’s reign,
The 118th Congress stagnates again.
A tale of inaction, misguided direction,
A nation caught in the grip of inefficacy’s infection.

Promises made, but not fulfilled,
The wheels of progress seemingly stilled.
Partisan battles fought without end,
Leaving the concerns of the people to suspend.

Voices silenced, frustrations high,
Mountains of legislation piled sky-high.
But little action, and time slips away,
Leaving us disillusioned, dismayed.

A nation yearning for change and reform,
Yet, our Congress fails to perform.
Lost in the maze of political debate,
Opportunities wasted, compromise too late.

The clock ticks on, the days go by,
And our Congress continues to lie,
Burdened by gridlock and partisan pride,
While the nation’s needs are cast aside.

So let us remember this historic Congress,
A tale of apathy and unfulfilled progress.
May we demand better, strive for a new light,
And reclaim our democracy with all our might.
