Shadows of Justice

Shadows of Justice

Title: Shadows of Justice

Hushed breaths linger in the deep of night,
As shadows dance amidst the fading light,
Two officers stand, their deeds in the dark,
Their hands brandishing a force so stark.

Silence shrouds the streets, silenced are the cries,
Justice concealed behind a veil of lies,
They walked free, acquittal bestowed,
While justice weeps, its integrity erode.

Innocence, betrayed, by scales that falter,
A system marred, where justice seeks to alter,
Tears glisten in eyes, stained with disbelief,
As hearts lament the absence of relief.

The echoes of protests, still resound,
Voices unite in solidarity profound,
A plea for change, for a system reformed,
As the truth, in the wind, remains unadorned.

But amidst this storm, rays of hope ignite,
The fire within to fight for what is right,
For the shield of justice shall not be stained,
By acquittal’s shield, falsely ordained.
