Shattered Dreams
Title: Shattered Dreams
Amidst the chaos, my heart crumbles, aching,
My daughter’s perfect princess birthday party,
Now a scene of disappointment and confusion,
As my plans and hopes unravel, unsteady.
Once vibrant balloons, now burst, deflated,
The cake, a mere wreck, its sweetness lost,
Tears streaming down her delicate face,
As shattered dreams leave her innocence crossed.
Apologies flow, amidst whispers and sighs,
Promises of redemption hang heavy in the air,
Yet, no gesture can mend the pieces,
Of a shattered fairytale, stripped bare.
In the ruins of this shattered affair,
A lesson learned, in depths unforeseen,
That life’s unpredictability knows no bounds,
But within resilience, lies a spirit, serene.
Grief, resilience, disappointment, confusion, shattered dreams, birthday party
