Shattered Skies
Title: Shattered Skies
Amidst the echoes of anguish and despair,
Where dreams lie buried beneath earth and air,
Israel’s advancing forces tread on sacred land,
In refugee camps where lives are dismally unmanned.
In the heart of Gaza, where hope once stood firm,
Barren streets now quiver, pained hearts yearn,
Bombs shatter windows, tearing through fragile homes,
As sorrow’s ink bleeds across livid monochrome.
Children’s laughter silenced, replaced with fearful cries,
Innocence stolen as war’s ceaseless tempest flies,
Mothers’ tears mingling with dust on broken streets,
Where life chokes on the anguish that never retreats.
With every piercing blast, a memory is erased,
Frail foundations crumbling, hopes irreparably misplaced,
Amidst this carnage, seeds of hatred planted deep,
As dreams of peace and solace weep and slowly seep.
Yet in the midst of darkness, a flicker of light remains,
Resilient hearts united by shared sorrows and pains,
For in these shattered lands, seeds of strength shall bloom,
Sprouting resistance, resilience, and a will to consume.
May the ashes of despair give rise to burgeoning peace,
As love’s compassion and empathy ceaselessly increase,
Yearning for a day when olive branches shall unfurl,
And from the wounds of war, a united melody will swirl.
