Tainted Innocence
Title: Tainted Innocence
In a land where dreams should flourish and grow,
A school’s misguided actions struck a heavy blow,
Forcing a two-year-old, so young and frail,
To relive injustices, an abhorrent tale.
A Rosa Parks reenactment, they deemed it right,
But unaware of the scars it caused in the night,
White toddlers, with ignorance reflecting in their eyes,
“Handcuffing” innocence, where truth belies.
Tiny fingerprints, marked by prejudice and pain,
An indelible stain on a spirit so pure and plain,
Why subject a child, with tender hearts so dear,
To the agony of history’s suffocating air?
Now we stand in outrage, voices united as one,
Demanding justice for the wrongs that were done,
May this lesson be learned, as we strive to find a way,
To protect our children’s innocence, every single day.
