A fateful request from Israel,
For a buffer zone surreal,
To settle the coming war,
And what of Gaza’s post-truce hue?

The Arab states are aghast,
It’s a grave query they must parse,
For Israel, their terms they must read,
Askings fraught with great need.

What is this buffer zone that’s chosen,
Can they halt an impending war?
Will the day to night be frozen,
A standstill, not a great roar?

The prospect of peace in Gaza,
What of those who fought the fray?
Their days trauma-filled and dreary,
A truce the saving of today?

For a distant refuge they go,
One which of their strength they must show,
In the request of the buffer zone,
Hope rising, or will tensions grow?

What of Israel and the Arab lands,
How do these two forces weigh?
Can peace in the buffer zone stand,
Amidst their wars and disarray?
