The Callous Divide

The Callous Divide

Title: The Callous Divide

In the Lone Star State, a threatening surge,
Abbott signs a law, leaving hearts on the verge.
Migrants now find themselves in a painful plight,
As Texas prepares for a federal fight.

Underneath vast skies, dreams tattered and torn,
Seeking refuge on lands where hope was once born.
Their journeys treacherous, yet they persevere,
But now, a harsh reality drowns in their fear.

The law seeks to arrest, to detain and deport,
Leaving lives shattered, families severed, hearts distraught.
But compassion, we plead, for these souls in dire need,
Shall we turn our backs when empathy should lead?

The stage is now set, a showdown on the horizon,
Between state and nation, a clash to be risen.
Yet amid the storm, a truth we must proclaim,
That humanity should triumph, not be drowned in disdain.

For in this complex struggle, compassion must prevail,
A bridge to unite, not divide and impale.
Let us wrestle with empathy, let kindness be our guide,
And remember, behind those walls, human lives reside.
