The Double Mask
Title: The Double Mask
Under Commissioner Edward Caban’s watchful eye,
A detective in blue, in secrecy did lie.
A shadowed figure, with deceitful intent,
Two false names he uttered, his true self unbeknownst.
In pursuit of justice, or his own twisted game?
The double mask he wore, casting doubt and shame.
Behind the curtain of NYPD’s inner dealings,
A web of deception, a tale of stolen feelings.
An officer sworn to protect and serve,
Yet he chose to disguise, his character curved.
A name a facade, truth buried deep,
The cost of his actions, his secret souls keep.
In the heart of the city, where trust should reside,
A wolf amidst sheep, his true self he would hide.
The badge tarnished by the whispers of deceit,
An office of power, now tainted and incomplete.
The citizens betrayed, the Commissioner’s shock,
A detective’s fall from grace, a broken clock.
Let us reflect on the choices we make,
To wear a mask or stand for truth’s sake.
For in the darkness of lies, trust can’t be found,
And the foundations of justice begin to astound.
The double mask shatters, a lesson to learn,
Integrity lost, a trust we must earn.
