The Forbidden Dream
The Forbidden Dream
In twilight’s gloom, schoolgirls weep,
Their education, lost in the deep,
Under Taliban’s merciless claws,
Unveiling darkness, education’s pause.
The classroom walls echoed silent denial,
As dreams crumbled, hope lost, mile by mile,
Fine penmanship, erased from the book,
Knowledge forsaken, a devastating hook.
Young minds yearn for a brighter day,
But traditions forbid their chosen way,
In tears they gather, hearts filled with pain,
As aspirations perish like autumn’s wane.
Their laughter, once vibrant, now whispers fade,
In shadows they linger, innocence betrayed,
The world outside beckons, ever so near,
Yet freedom remains a foggy mirage, unclear.
Oh, let their tears ignite the flame of change,
Defying oppression, their spirits rearrange,
So that one day, under a different sun,
Their dreams shall soar, with victory won.
For every tear shed, remember them well,
Warriors of knowledge, with tales to tell,
May we stand united, for their right to learn,
And kindle their dreams, for it’s they who yearn.
