The Forgotten Soul
The Forgotten Soul
Amidst the walls of care and trust,
A solitary figure wept, unseen,
Her bruised face, a painful tale,
Of neglect, anguish, and shattered dreams.
Once embraced with tender hands,
Now abandoned to the cruel hands of fate,
A victim of the very ones,
Whose duty was to advocate.
Her dementia, a tangled labyrinth,
Yet, compassion’s light could guide,
But alas, the caregivers overlooked,
The signs, the pain, that she reprised.
Oh, dear society, let us not forget,
The ones who bear the weight of aged,
Mandatory training, a dire need,
To safeguard their spirits, to assuage.
Dementia, care, elderly, neglect, training, compassion
