The Lingering Shame
Title: The Lingering Shame
Pete Davidson, caught in a moment of despair,
Confesses the truth with a deep sense of tear.
High on ketamine, at a funeral so grave,
He admits, “I’m embarrassed,” his soul now enslaved.
A somber gathering, Aretha Franklin’s farewell,
But Pete’s consciousness wanders, under a spell.
In this house of mourning, his senses gone astray,
He realizes the depth of his mistake, belatedly today.
The weight of his confession, a burden unbeknownst,
Caught in a haze, by remorse firmly engrossed.
A spectacle he became in that sacred space,
Remorse riddles his being, etched upon his face.
The judgment and whispers now loom overhead,
Regrets and apologies, silently left unsaid.
Embarrassment lingers, an indelible stain,
A moment in time that forever shall remain.
Shame, remorse, regret, secrets, confession, funeral
