The Ringing Query

The Ringing Query

Title: The Ringing Query

Barry Fry, a man of jest,
Dials up Brentford with interest.
He inquires with jovial tone,
About Ivan Toney, widely known.

They answer “No” with a tired sigh,
Fed up with his calls, oh my!
Yet doubt lingers in their response,
A January transfer not ensconced.

Barry persists, persistent in quest,
Humorously pestering, he does best.
Each call a reminder of his query,
If Toney’s sale is near or dreary.

Brentford’s patience may be thin,
But Barry’s tenacity can’t be seen.
For in every jest and ringing flair,
Is a longing hope that lingers there.
