“The Stillness of the Streets”
Title: “The Stillness of the Streets”
London, once vibrant and alive,
Now trapped in gridlock, struggling to thrive.
Sadiq Khan’s changes, oh, what a curse,
LTNs and Ulez extension making matters worse.
The slowest city on Earth, it seems,
With drivers caught in endless streams.
Average speed reduced to a snail’s pace,
As frustration and impatience set the pace.
The streets that once buzzed with energy,
Now frozen in a state of apathy.
The rhythm of the city has come to a halt,
As motorists navigate through a traffic assault.
Londoners, once masters of the road,
Now trapped in queues, their temper overload.
Miles stretch out like an eternal thread,
As commuters battle chaos with a sense of dread.
LTNs bring isolation, divide and disconnect,
Turning neighborhoods into islands, causing much neglect.
The heart of the city beats with growing disdain,
As communities suffer, choked by traffic’s chain.
Oh, London, can you ever reclaim your pace?
Will your streets ever see a familiar chase?
Until then, we mourn the loss of your drive,
As your once vibrant spirit continues to strive.
