The Unseen Recourse

The Unseen Recourse

Title: The Unseen Recourse

On the day my stepfather died,
Of brain cancer’s relentless tide,
He altered his trust, a painful blow,
Left everything to my sister to show.

In the depths of heartache and despair,
I seek solace in the whispers of prayer,
Feeling lost, betrayed by this decree,
Seeking an unseen recourse, a chance to be free.

But doubts linger, like shadows in the night,
Questions haunting my thoughts, an inner fight,
Do I dare challenge fate’s unkind decision?
Or accept this fate, with grace and precision?

Through tear-stained eyes, I search for a way,
To find justice, to alter the course, to sway,
Seeking legal avenues, a glimmer of hope,
To not be left adrift, drowning in this scope.

Yet, amidst the storm, I find strength anew,
In memories cherished, in love that once grew,
For blood ties cannot be severed by estate,
Within our souls, my stepfather’s legacy remains great.

So, I reconcile my heart with a bittersweet smile,
Though the trust may be altered, even for a while,
Love transcends possessions, and I persevere,
Finding solace in knowing, our bond holds dear.
