The Witness Stand
Title: The Witness Stand
In the hallowed halls of justice’s might,
A story unfolds, a truth takes flight,
Jan. 6’s testimony, a piercing light.
With solemn steps, a witness approaches,
Their voice trembling, yet conviction encroaches,
Recounting the chaos, the mob that encroached,
The words spill forth, a raw confession,
Of rhetoric fanned with hateful obsession,
Inciting the flames that engulfed the session,
His name echoed, a leader’s command,
An incendiary call, like wildfire fanned,
Fueling anger, discontent, and demand,
The evidence presented, stark and clear,
No smoke and mirrors, no room for veneer,
A nation gasps, as truth draws near,
And as the trial unfolds, the world holds breath,
Justice for all, a pursuit of redress,
Will testimony’s weight be enough to impress?
