Raging rivers, with powers hard to defy,
Claimed them swiftly, leaving loved ones to cry.

Their dreams and aspirations drowned in the rain,
A somber reminder of nature’s surging might,
A tragic end to their fateful river plight.

Their memory lives on, cast upon the water’s crest,
A testament of valor, against nature’s test,
May their souls find solace in eternal repose,
As the River Esk mourns its victims who chose.
