Unjust Shadows

Unjust Shadows

Title: Unjust Shadows

In the name of duty, a savior arose,
An officer retired, his allegiance did show,
Tackling the culprit, adhering to the call,
Yet, the tables turned, and justice took a fall.

The government’s directives, he followed them through,
Only to find himself made a criminal, it’s true,
A fine of £130, an ironic twist,
While the thief escaped, his deeds dismissed.

A world turned upside down, an unfair charade,
Where heroes are punished, and villains evade,
The scales of justice, unbalanced and askew,
Leaving the virtuous disheartened and blue.

But in the face of injustice, strength does persist,
The retired officer’s spirit could not be dismissed,
For though the system faltered, his bravery remained,
A beacon of hope, in a world unrestrained.

From the shadows, his story echoes far and wide,
A reminder that courage is found deep inside,
Through adversity and setbacks, the truth does ignite,
That righteousness prevails, even in the darkest night.
