Watered-Down Resolutions

Watered-Down Resolutions

Title: Watered-Down Resolutions

In the halls of the mighty U.N. they gather,
To discuss the strife that weighs heavy in the air,
Yet their words fall short, like raindrops in a desert,
Failing to call for peace, leaving hearts in despair.

Brave souls cry out, pleading for justice to prevail,
But their voices are silenced by the politics of power,
In the wake of destruction, hope begins to fail,
As the U.N.’s resolutions grow weaker by the hour.

The shattered dreams of the innocent fill the night,
Their tears mingling with the ashes of broken homes,
Yet the U.N.’s response remains out of sight,
Leaving the oppressed to fight their battles alone.

How many lives must be lost before they take a stand?
How many hearts must break before they truly care?
The world looks on, aghast at their lack of command,
As the U.N.’s watered-down resolutions fill the air.

We yearn for leaders who will unite for a higher cause,
Who will rise above selfish interests and petty squabbles,
For in unity lies the power to erase the scars,
And find common ground amidst the world’s troubles.

Let us not forget the importance of this plea,
For the lives of the innocent rest in our hands,
Together we must rise, fight against apathy,
Hold the U.N. accountable and make our demands.
