Amidst innocence, ignorance untold,
Children’s words, biting and cold,
Ageist notions, ingrained and grown,
Hatred sown, in hearts not yet fully known.

A spark of youth, devoid of grace,
Old people’s worth, they oft efface,
Contributors to stereotypes, they unwittingly become,
Creating divides, with their judgment so glum.

But let us teach the young, educate their souls,
Empathy and kindness, to fill the gaping holes,
For wisdom resides within the graying hair,
A treasure trove of experiences to share.

Let us bridge the divide, diminish the divide,
Erase the aged torment, let compassion abide,
Bound by this truth, united and strong,
Embracing the elderly, where we all belong.

So let us rewrite the narrative anew,
Reviving respect, embracing the view,
That age is a testament to lessons once learned,
Together we flourish, our wisdom discerned.
